Users List

Purpose

This screen is used to browse the entire Users list. The list will be sorted on user ID by default.

This screen also serves as the main entry point to the creation and edition of individual User accounts. For further information about the creation, edition and management of User accounts, please refer to the Users Edition Page.

Getting There...

From the Main Application Menu (or indeed almost any other Project Hirtius page), click on the "Manage Users" icon in the header ().

Fields

Each entry in the list will use the following layout:

user ID

fullname

level

since

For the description, format and meaning of each data field, please refer to the Users Edition Page. Disabled user accounts are rendered as striked-through. Authorisation level is format-coded to make Admin accounts easier to identify.

The first column contains a radio button used to mark the user account that will be the object of the action selected in the drop-down list below. When the current page is accessed by non admin-capable users, the line that corresponds to their own account is marked by default and all other radio ./buttons are disabled.

Controls

Sort order control

You can control the sort order of the list by clicking on the column header you want to use as key. The currently active sort key (User ID, by default) is rendered in plain italics, whereas other available keys are rendered as hyperlinks.

Currently available sort keys are:

User ID (default)
Full User Name
Since (= account creation date)

User actions

In opposition to most other pages in Project Hirtius, some user-related actions will be placed in the list itself, while others will be reached through controls placed below it.

eMail address: in the last column of the users list, a 'mailto:' link that can be used to communicate easily with any other user of the application.
email all link: clicking on this link will open your email client with the entire users list as recepients. This makes it easy for the administrator to warn all users of the application in the event of a scheduled maintenance or upgrade, for instance. Only active user accounts will be included.
action drop-down: first mark a User record using the radio button in the first column of the table, then select the appropriate action in the drop-down control and press Submit to perform that action through the Users Edition Page. The available actions are:
- Edit user
- Change user password
- Edit user's columns choice
- View user
- Delete user (visible to admin-capable users only)
- Create new user (visible to admin-capable users only)

Related pages menu

At the bottom of the page, between the Users list and the page footer, a small secondary menu is located that will give you access to pages related to the task at hand or administration topics in general, pages that are not directly reachable through the header toolbar.

Here are the menu entries in question:

Event Log: opens the Event Log Viewer (this is a view-only page, even for application administrators).
Country Codes: opens the Country Codes Management Page (this is a view-only page, even for application administrators).
