Advanced Search Result Page

Purpose

This page will display the objects returned by the query whose parameters have been set on the Advanced Search Page. Since all the objects returned will be of the same type (as opposed to the result you might get from the Basic and Timeline Search Page), you will get the ability here to define in a lot more details exactly which information (in terms of columns) you want to see displayed for each object type. This selection is made from the Users Edition Page and stored in your user profile.

Getting There...

This page can only be reached by clicking on the Search button on the Advanced Search Page.

Controls

Please note: there is, at this stage, no way for the user to specify a different sort order for the search result set. Results are always sorted in ascending order on the object ID.

Navigation bar
At the top of the page, just below the header, you'll find links that you can use to switch between the four main search modes: Basic, Timeline, Advanced and Calendar Tools. This control acts like a set of "Tabs", where the currently active one is rendered as plain text, and other available choices are rendered as bold-face font links. On sub-pages (such as the "Object Type Selection" or the "Search Result" page), the "current" tab will be rendered in regular font and link back to the previous step (the query terms entry form, for instance).
Object Mark checkbox
For fully-fledged objects only, each entry in the list will feature a checkbox in the first column, that can be used to select the row for further processing. At this stage, the processing options are:
View links
Each entry in the search result list is composed of a view link (where applicable) and a description. When present, the view link will open the object or non-object entity edition page in "view" mode. Depending on the object type and on the columns selected for display by the user, further link(s) to related objects may be offered, when applicable.
Check all and Uncheck all ./buttons
As the name implies, these ./buttons allow you to mark (or unmark) the checkboxes for all the records listed on the current page in one fell swoop.
A typical use case when dealing with a large query result set would be to first Check all records and then to manually uncheck a few extraneous ones.
INXlink button
Once you have marked all the records that you want to process, this button will get you to the Index Categories Bulk Add Page where you will be given the opportunity of selecting any number of INXtree categories to be added to all records you just selected.
Change columns action link
Brings you to the Users Edition Page in "Change my columns" mode. Opens the target page on the relevant section. Enables you to determine which columns will be displayed on the Advanced Search Result Page (and Calendar Search Result Page) for each object type. This choice will be saved as part of your profile. This link will not be shown when searching for Books, Articles or Log entries, as there is no column choice to be made in these cases.
Please note, that there is currently no "clean" way to apply a new choice of columns to an existing query result. If you modify your choice, you will have to re-enter your parameters and re-run the query.
