Calendar Search Result Page
This page will display the objects returned by the query whose parameters
have been set by clicking on a specific day in Calendar View (only days that have
event-like objects linked to them are rendered as HTML links). Since all the
objects returned will be organised by type (as opposed to the result you might
get from the Basic and Timeline Search Page), you will get the ability here to define in a lot more
details exactly which information (in terms of columns) you want to see
displayed for those object types that support it (Slides and
Events at this stage). This selection is made from the Users Edition Page and
stored in your user profile.
These are the Hirtius objects that will be identified by the
Calendar Search Result Page:
- Slides (based on the 'shot_date' field)
- Events (based on the 'date_start' field) -- this
of course also applies to so-called "auto-events", namely those identifying
the birth and death dates of Individuals, as well as the couple
creation event for Families
- Titles (based on the 'as_of' field)
In the case of Events and Titles, thanks to the internal
representation of the associated date as a Julian Day Number, the objects
will be returned for the correct date, no matter what era (Julian or
Gregorian) they were encoded as, or what era was being queried through
Calendar View.
Each of these object types will grouped in a dedicated section on the
Calendar Search Result Page. Only those sections where matches have been found will be
displayed.
This page can only be reached by clicking on a specific day rendered as a
link on the Calendar View page.
Please note: there is, at this stage, no way for the user to specify a
different sort order for the search result set. Results are always sorted
in ascending order on the object ID.
- Navigation bar
- At the top of the page, just below the header, you'll find links that
you can use to switch between the four main search modes: Basic,
Timeline, Advanced and Calendar Tools. This control acts
like a set of "Tabs", where the currently active one is rendered as plain
text, and other available choices are rendered as bold-face font links. On
sub-pages (such as the "Object Type Selection" or the "Search Result" page),
the "current" tab will be rendered in regular font and link back to the
previous step (the query terms entry form, for instance).
- Object Mark checkbox
- For fully-fledged objects only, each entry in the list will feature a
checkbox in the first column, that can be used to select the row for further
processing. At this stage, the processing options are:
- Adding a set of selected INXtree categories to each one of
the marked objects in the list (handled by the Index Categories Bulk Add Page -- see the
INXlink button definition below).
- View links
- Each entry in the search result list begins with a view link followed by
and a description. The view link will open the object or lesser object entity
edition page in "view" mode. Depending on the object type and on the columns
selected for display by the user, further link(s) to related objects may be
offered, when applicable.
- Check all and Uncheck all ./buttons
- As the name implies, these ./buttons allow you to mark (or unmark) the
checkboxes for all the records listed in the current section in one fell
swoop.
A typical use case when dealing with a large query result set would be to
first Check all records and then to manually uncheck a few
extraneous ones.
A separate set of ./buttons will be displayed in each applicable section
(only for fully-fledged objects and only if matches have been found for
that particular object type).
- INXlink button
- Once you have marked all the records that you want to process, this
button will get you to the Index Categories Bulk Add Page where you will be given the
opportunity of selecting any number of INXtree categories to
be added to all records you just selected.
A separate button will be displayed in each applicable section
(only for fully-fledged objects and only if matches have been found for
that particular object type) -- if you need to process objects from
different categories in this way, you will need to return to the present
page via Calendar View once the first batch will have been processed.
- Change columns action link
- Brings you to the Users Edition Page in "Change my columns" mode. Opens the target
page on the relevant section. Enables you to determine which columns will be
displayed on the Calendar Search Result Page (and Advanced Search Result Page) for each object type. This choice
will be saved as part of your profile. This link will not be shown when
searching for Titles, as there is no column choice to be made in this
case.
Please note, that there is currently no "clean" way to apply a new choice of
columns to an existing query result. If you modify your choice, you
will have to re-run the query accessing the current page via Calendar View.
