Weblinks List

Purpose

This screen is used to browse the entire Weblinks list.

This screen also serves as the main entry point to the creation and edition of individual Weblinks.

Getting There...

The Weblinks List is not available straight from the Main Application Menu. To reach it:

• From the Main Application Menu (or indeed almost any other Project Hirtius page), click on the "Manage Books" icon in the header (). This gets you to the Books and Articles List.
• Click on the Web Links "tab". This gets you to the Weblinks List}.

Fields

Each entry in the list will use the following layout:

For the description, format and meaning of each field, please refer to the Weblinks Edition Page. A few words on those that are not defined there or need extra clarification:

link_id:

When followed by a star ('*'), a comment has been entered for that weblink. Hover your mouse over its ID to get it displayed as a tooltip. Comments that are longer than '$max_ttip_len' char. (see Global Definitions File) will be trucated and suffixed with '...' to denote the truncation.

anchor:

A globe icon () that will lead you to the on-line content linked to by the weblink.

title:

Weblink title. Rendered as striked-through if the link is flagged as dead.

Controls

Books and Weblinks tabs

The first row of controls beneath the page header allows the user to switch between the Books and Articles List and the Weblinks List. The currently active page is rendered as text, whereas the other available choice is rendered as HTML link. Here are the two available choices:

• Books & Articles: leads you to the Books and Articles List.
• Web Links: leads you to the Weblinks List.

Weblink actions

For each Weblink in the list, the first and last columns of its row contain links that correspond to actions to be performed on the Weblink object.

• Weblink ID: the Weblink ID (left-most column) is a link that opens the Weblinks Edition Page in view mode for the selected Weblink.
• Edit: opens the Weblinks Edition Page in edit mode for the selected Weblink.
• Clone: opens the Weblinks Edition Page in clone mode for the selected Weblink (use it to create a new Weblink record based on a copy of the original one: all fields will be pre-filled; further edit them as needed before hitting Submit).
• Del: opens the Weblinks Edition Page in delete confirmation mode for the selected Weblink. You can then confirm to proceed with the deletion or cancel it and return to the list.

In addition to this, a global action is available on the last row (bottom right corner) of the list:

• Add: opens the Weblinks Edition Page in add mode (displays a blank HTML form to be filled in order to create a new Weblink record).
