Trays List
This screen is used to browse the entire Trays list, by default
ordered by tray ID.
This screen also serves as the main entry point to the creation and edition
of individual Trays.
For further information about the creation, edition and management of
Tray objects, please refer to the Slide Trays Edition Page and the Pictures Management Workflow.
The Trays management screens are not available straight from the
Main Application Menu. To reach the Trays list:
- From the Main Application Menu (or indeed almost any other Project Hirtius page),
click on the "Manage Slides" icon in the header
().
- Scroll to the bottom of the page. Click on the Slide Trays
link located between the Slides List and the page footer. This gets you to the
Slide Trays List.
Each entry in the list will use the following layout:
tray id* |
|
tray name (scount / smax) |
pctfull % |
is digital |
hex numbered |
[actions] |
For the description, format and meaning of each field, please refer to the
Slide Trays Edition Page. In addition to the fields defined in the Tray record,
or on top of their usual meaning, we also have these extra ones (computed
fields, for the most part):
- tray ID: When followed by a star ('*'), a comment has been
entered for that Tray. Hover your mouse over its ID to get it
displayed as a tooltip. Comments that are longer than
'$max_ttip_len' char. (see Global Definitions File) will be trucated and
suffixed with '...' to denote the truncation.
- (picture icon): hyperlink to the "Photo Gallery" HTML
index page generated from all the Slides stored in that Tray
(if present)
- scount: slides count. How many slides this tray already
contains. Queried from the Slides table.
- smax: alternate name for the slides per tray field
defined on the Slide Trays Edition Page.
- pctfull: percentage of fill for the tray. Computed based
on scount and smax.
The first row of controls beneath the page header allows the user to
select the desired sort order for the list. The currently active sort order
is rendered as text, whereas all other available choices are rendered
as HTML links. Here are the two available choices:
- by ID: (default). Ordered by increasing
tray ID.
- by name: ordered by increasing tray name +
tray ID.
Selecting a different sort order always returns you to the top of the
list (as defined by that order).
The second row of controls beneath the page header allows the user to
navigate the Trays list based on the currently selected sort order
(see above). Some action links (prev
and next) may be rendered as text when not applicable.
Here are the available actions:
- First: jump to top of list (first record).
- Prev: show previous page (i.e. previous chunk of 'N'
records, where 'N' is a value defined in the Global Definitions File).
- All: show all records on a single page. Depending on the
length of the list, this may be more than your browser can handle, and it
may make it crash.
- Next: show next page (i.e. next chunk of 'N' records,
where 'N' is a value defined in the Global Definitions File).
- Last: jump to bottom of list (last record).
For each Tray in the list, the first and last columns of its
row contain links that correspond to actions to be performed on the
Tray object.
- Tray ID: the Tray ID (left-most column) is a link
that opens the Slide Trays Edition Page in view mode for the selected Tray.
- Edit: opens the Slide Trays Edition Page in edit mode for the
selected Tray.
- Clone: opens the Slide Trays Edition Page in clone mode for the
selected Tray (use it to create a new Tray record based on a
copy of the original one: all fields will be pre-filled; further edit them as
needed before hitting Submit). The contents of the original
tray (the slides it may contain) is obviously not copied.
- Del: opens the Slide Trays Edition Page in delete confirmation mode
for the selected Tray. You can then confirm to proceed with the
deletion or cancel it and return to the list. Beware:
deleting a tray record will also delete all the slide records it contains,
including all of their metadata. The confirmation message will tell you
if your tray still contains slide records. If you want to keep them, move
them to another tray before removing this one.
In addition to this, a global action is available on the last row
(bottom right corner) of the list:
- Add: opens the Slide Trays Edition Page in add mode (displays a blank
HTML form to be filled in order to create a new Tray record).
At the bottom of the page, between the Trays list and the page
footer, a small secondary menu is located that will give you access to pages
related to the task at hand (such as Trays reports), pages that are
not directly reachable through the header toolbar.
Here are the menu entries in question:
